The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a British breed of toy dog of spaniel type. It is one of the largest and most popular toy dog breeds, often called the perfect lap dog. The breed is known for its silky, wavy coat; short legs; floppy ears; and distinctive feathered features. Four colors are recognized: Blenheim (chestnut and white), tricolor (black/white/tan), black and tan, and ruby; the coat is smooth and silky. The lifespan is usually between eight and twelve years
